Chester Zoo's Lanterns and Light transforms the zoo into a glowing after-dark trail for the festive season, with illuminated animal lanterns and light installations along the route. Quiet-hour sessions are offered on selected dates for a calmer visit. The event returns for 2026 on selected evening dates; tickets are expected to go on sale ahead of the season. It is very popular and sells out weeks in advance, so book online early.
